Kaleid Editions
As though the image of a book has not been altered enough recently with the launch of the kindle here come Louise Bristow in collaboration with Kaleid editions and introduces Platonic. Bristow’s book Platonic is not an ordinary book and it is definitely not a kindle. Instead it is a geometric assimilation of a series of five laser-printed and scored prints by the bespoke artist that when they are put together pose as the perfect narrative of modernist triumphs. Each book is available as a limited edition of one hundred at £6 or as an edition of twenty five box sets at £25. This is a must buy.
St John’s
St John’s is undoubtedly the best restaurant in London. You have an option which branch you to go to; it is either Farrington or Spitafields market. Our favourite is the latter particularly during the weekends. On a Sunday go for stroll in the East End- we are thinking Brick Lane and Spitafields market and head to St John’s on Commercial Street at around 5 for a late lunch early dinner gastronomic experience. We highly recommend you make a reservation as tables do get booked up fast and waiting for a table could take some time. To make a reservation check out http://www.stjohnrestaurant.co.uk/
M.O.S.T
Visitors to London should always include Selfridges in their travel itinerary. This megastore is a historical London landmark for several reasons. It has recently celebrated its centenary, its window displays are eye catching and awe inspiring, and needless to say its collection is amazing. Anyone travelling to London this weekend has an extra reason to visit Londoner’s favourite shopping mall. Ultralounge, Selfridges’ permanent arts and exhibition space, launches its 2010 season with an exciting new show, initiated by Pocko that celebrates the beauty of the small: The Museum of Small Things (M.O.S.T.) M.O.S.T. is an exclusive collaboration between Selfridges, the creative boutique and publishing company POCKO and designer Kit Grover. Curated by Nicola Schwartz of Pocko and Kit Grover, the exhibition will include new work by over 20 artists from Pocko’s international stable including McFaul Studio, James Dawe and Nomoco. Besides this list of young and funky artists, the exhibition will include works by British national treasures such as Grayson Perry and Richard Wentworth, intermixed with jeweller, Shaun Leane.
The Correspondents
The Correspondents’ are London’s latest hot band. They have shared the stage with the likes (or unlikes) of Florence & The Machine, Lilly Allen, Mika, Little Boots, VV Brown, Bat For Lashes, Lazy Habits, Daedalus, Bassment Jaxx, Rob Da Bank, Rusko, Kitty Daisy & Lewis, Cuban Brothers, Brass Roots, Jocelyn Brown, Dub Pistols and the list goes. You might have seen them at Secret Garden Festival, Glastonbury, or more recently Bestival where they performed in front of a wapping 10 000 people. The festival circuit loves them whilst the fans cannot get enough.
What is their music about? MC Mr Bruce and DJ/Producer Mr Chuckles collaborate to make Hip Hop for the 1930s, Big Band music for the 00s. Splicing swing samples with squelchy synths over dusty drum loops they’ve depicted a modern day journey into time of rogue’s, lust, affordable clowns and foot-tapping toe curling “get your brogues on” dance floor swing beat.
If you are in London the weekend of the 18th of February they will be playing at Madame Jojo’s in Soho at 20:00. Go for drinks at the French house before on 49 Dean Street
London, W1D 5BGand make your way to Madame Jojo’s for the best gig of your life.

English Breakfast
None of us would eat English cuisine on a daily basis but gastronomically speaking nothing tops traditional English breakfast on a Saturday morning. The best one in town must be the one served at the Table on Southwark street right behind Tate Modern. Breakfast is served from 7:00 am to 11:00, have it- slowly and enjoy it- and then go check out the Tate Modern or walk to Borough Market for a coffee in what is probably London’s trendiest food market.

Skype Portraits
Ian Bruce is one of Britain’s rising artists. Included in the BP list of top 50 portrait painters he combines artistic flare with innovative entrepreneurialism. He has recently launched skype portraits. While many artists paint from photographs, Bruce resents that method and insists on painting live. He has managed to expand his clients by using the video chat function skype. This method transcends all national boundaries and allows you to truly experience one of Britain’s art talents whilst not even visiting the country. If you cannot bear the thought of rainy grey London then hang around in Spain but get your portrait painted by Mr Bruce.

Print Now London Art Fair
During Frieze, the swanky art fair in Regent’s Park, prints made a comeback. First time art collectors were snatching them up like nothing else. When we heard this, we were upset about losing the opportunity to get our hands on some great art, but we are no longer as BEARSPACE will be bringing an original collection of prints to the London Art Fair during the 13 and 17th of January.
The collection of prints presented by BEARSPACE has been carefully assembled by art connoisseurs and collectors. The list includes Kay Saatchi, Pryle Behrman, Julia Alvarez and Mike Sims. So if you are interested in collecting art come down and get your hands on some limited edition prints and support the emerging artists who created them.
